What we do
UrbanGreenLeap helps cities, especially small and medium ones, address climate change by protecting and expanding green spaces. The project supports local governments in creating Urban Nature Plans that include parks, green roofs, and urban forests, promoting nature-based solutions. It also empowers citizens to take part in improving their environments and raises awareness among decision-makers about the importance of green spaces for climate resilience.
Fostering Collaboration
We all know we can’t deal with climate change issues on our own. UrbanGreenLeap helps local public sector and related organisations work together with citizens to tackle climate change.
Bringing nature back to cities
We are committed to protecting and restoring biodiversity and accessible urban forests, parks and gardens, urban farms, green roofs and walls, treelined streets, urban meadows and urban hedges in small and medium-sized cities.
Rewarding community action
The project recognises and amplifies the role of local communities in shaping sustainable adaptation of the urban environments by celebrating their contributions.
Solution-oriented
We are driven to identify specific and tailored solutions to the local challenges posed by climate change.
Shifting behaviour into action
UrbanGreenLeap empowers the local community to participate and be proactively involved in the co-creation of a green city by providing specific solutions they can use.
Spreading the seeds
The UrbanGreenLeap partnership brings together all kinds of professionals and helps small and medium-sized cities use cross-border knowledge for a local impact.
